Akash Deep’s rise to prominence began with Bengal, where his relentless accuracy helped the team reach two Ranji Trophy finals. While he was initially regarded as a long-format specialist, his performance for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) proved he could handle the pressure of the IPL. In 2025, he reached a career peak during India’s tour of England, claiming his maiden 10-wicket match haul (4/88 and 6/99) at Edgbaston, which powered India to a historic victory.
A Modern Nightwatchman with the Bat
Beyond his bowling, Akash has developed into a reliable lower-order batter. During the 2025 Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy against England, he showcased his batting grit by scoring a career-best 66 as a nightwatchman at the Oval.
