Sam Curran: Player Profile & 2026 Outlook

The “Rockstar” All-Rounder’s Journey

Sam Curran first became a household name during England’s title-winning 2022 T20 World Cup campaign, where he was named Player of the Tournament for his exceptional death-over bowling. This performance led to a record-breaking ₹18.5 Crore bid from Punjab Kings in the 2023 auction. While his 2023 and 2024 seasons saw him leading the charge for PBKS, his 2025 season with CSK showcased his growth as a specialist finisher, where he averaged 22.80 with a high score of 88.

2026 Trade: A New Start with Rajasthan Royals

In a major shake-up announced in November 2025, Sam Curran was traded to Rajasthan Royals at his existing fee of ₹2.4 Crore. This move reunites him with fellow England star Jofra Archer and Indian legend Ravindra Jadeja. Curran is currently in peak form, recently being named Player of the Match in the Big Bash League (January 19, 2026) for a match-winning 53* for the Sydney Sixers. He is now set to lead England’s attack in the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka before joining the Royals’ camp.
